We hope you join us for a double theater weekend as we enjoy the always popular Wicked and those fun-loving and easily identifiable Church Basement Ladies in Second Helping August 8-9, 2026!
From the first note to the final unsuspecting moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transforms audiences with its unique and inventive story.
Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz... but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships...until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” You know the story. You love the music. You need to experience it.
Sunday, we will visit our favorite Westridge Market and enjoy browsing at Trader Joe's, Land's End, Michael's Crafts and the new Barnes & Noble before we head to the Plymouth Playhouse for Church Basement Ladies: Second Helping. CBL is set in the basement of the local Lutheran church where dedicated, resilient and quirky women work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the congregation running, and every event in between. The year is 1969 and the world is changing, as folks protest the Vietnam War, women are demanding equal pay for equal work and the Vikings are facing the Chiefs in the Super bowl, the ladies in the basement are dealing with changes of their own. From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they meet head-on the challenges of life. The Church Basement Ladies will have you laughing ‘till your side dish hurts.”
